Founded by Robert McDonald in December 1938 in the City of Carmel, McDonald Refrigeration Inc. has been a leading provider of Commercial and Industrial refrigeration services in the Central Coast area. Since relocating to 560 Fremont St. in Monterey post-World War II, we solidified our position as the largest Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Contractor in the Coastal region, specializing in Pre-fabricated Insulated Structures and custom-built refrigeration equipment. Our expansion to two large buildings on Cannery Row in 1955 (where the Aquarium is now located) further showcased our commitment to excellence.

Today, headquartered in Sand City, CA, McDonald Refrigeration Inc. remains a family-owned and operated business dedicated to delivering exceptional service, sales, and installation in Commercial Refrigeration.
